Avon Estuary Walk

Five intrepid West County Walkers (and Maisie the dog) tackled the Avon Estuary Walk on 21 November

The route, some 5.4 miles long, took in a variety of terrains, including a fairly boggy flood plain, some stepping stones over a stream, woods and fields. Some long uphills and steep downs, and fine views of Dartmoor (or at least there would have been on a clear day) and the Estuary itself - at low water. The walk ended with half a mile along the tidal road into Aveton Gifford, where we enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Fisherman's Rest, joined by two more members who had not undertaken the walk. A most enjoyable day.
