Committee meet at the Chichester Yacht Club

Plans for the new website revamp were outlined by HROA Webmaster Nigel Kingsley

Amongst all the usual items discussed at committee was an impressive presentation on plans for the new website revamp for the HROA by our web builders Live-Icom. At the launch of the current HROA website longer ago than this correspondent likes to admit, it was very much 'cutting edge' and ahead of many websites used by some much larger and better funded associations and sailing clubs.

But as technology has moved on apace, the site is now beginning to look a bit dated. One of the many features to be improved will be a new search facility, which will enable HROA members to find topics, contacts, boat names, other members' details who have opted to have them listed. Our newly appointed to committee Data Protection Officer Steve Proffitt will ensure the new site will still comply with all aspects of data protection legislation, just as the current sites does now. We have a Privacy and Data Protection Policy which can be accessed in the footer of this website.

Members curious to see how the new site will look and function will be able to see a preview presented by Nigel at the upcoming HROA Technical Seminar to be held at Port Solent on Saturday 28th March.
